Former Oral Roberts Golden Eagles senior guard Max Abmas has announced that he has transferred to the Texas Longhorns for next season. He is able to use a fifth year of eligibility due to the impact the Coronavirus had on the 2020-21 college basketball season. Abmas has been a mid-major darling for a few years now and for his final season will play with the Texas Longhorns. Texas is looking to compete seriously for a National Championship during the 2023-23 college basketball season and is building a roster that could be capable of that.

This past season as a senior with the Oral Robers Golden Eagles, Max Abmas averaged 21.9 points, 4.4 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 1.1 steals per game. He paired those numbers with a field goal percentage of 43.6 percent and a three-point percentage of 37.3 percent. Abmas has been a star for Oral Roberts and will now take his talents to the high majors. He is likely hoping to get more eyes on him, compete for a National Championship, and maybe improve his stock for professional leagues overseas. The Texas roster looks like a team that could seriously compete to win a National Championship this upcoming season.
