So, I am sure by now we have all heard and seen the various discussions surrounding the newest song, ‘FACTS‘ by Kanye West… To start the record off, which is being dubbed a diss towards Nike and the almighty Jordan Brand, Ye says ‘Yeezy Yeezy Yeezy Just Jumped Over Jumpman’. From that point on we could have all figured out where the song was going. Now while many are pointing out the real Facts with numbers the only fact that remains really is that Jumpman and Nike will continue to be a machine in the sneaker industry regardless of ‘hype’ or names (celebrities) attached to the brand.
By no means does this take away from the impact Ye has had because the proof is in the pudding (no Bill Cosby) but that is largely due to the resell market in a sense. Regardless of how you feel towards Nike, Jordan, adidas or Kanye West the sneaker culture is thriving and that is the most important part as far as I am concerned.
Since the record dropped to ring in the new year there hasn’t been a response from Nike or Jordan Brand directly but Michael Jordan’s son, Marcus Jordan decided to take to his Twitter account to share his thoughts on the notion that Yeezy Jumped Over Jumpman. As you can see he was more so amused by the song than anything and with sharing a GIF of a laughing MJ it was all in good taste.
Check out the tweets below and share what you guys think about the new song and the claims Ye made about his Yeezy brand…
