The office of Los Angeles City Attorney Hydee Feldstein Soto will not file charges against Michael “Killer Mike” Render.
On February 4, 2024, Killer Mike attended the 66th Annual GRAMMY Awards at Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, California. During the non-televised portion of the annual awards ceremony, the Atlanta native won Best Rap Song, Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Album. Shortly after delivering his acceptance speeches, the GRAMMY Award winner was reportedly arrested after an alleged altercation with a security guard. Killer Mike was arrested and booked for misdemeanor battery, but was later released without bail.
“I do want to note that last night, my team and I fielded a number of calls from concerned fans and colleagues wanting to know if I was OK,” he stated.
“I greatly appreciate the concern and support, but I am better than OK. As you can imagine, there was a lot going and there was some confusion around which door my team and I should enter. We experienced an over-zealous security guard but my team and I have the upmost confidence that I will ultimately be cleared of all wrongdoing.”
On Tuesday, June 25, TMZ learned that not only would he be cleared of all wrongdoing, but the Los Angeles City Attorney will not pursue any charges. Moving forward, Killer Mike will take his GRAMMY Award winning album, Michael, to Montreal for the International Jazz Festival, San Francisco for Outside Lands and Des Moines for the 80/35 Music Festival.
