On February 27, actor Michael B. Jordan and the cast of Creed III were in Hollywood for the latest premiere of Creed III. As Jordan made his way down the red carpet, he came encountered The Morning Hustle Co-Host Lore’l.
“You know, we know each other. We go way back to Chad Science in Newark, Ok,” she said as she addressed both Jordan and the camera.
“The corny kid, right?” Jordan said referencing comments made about him previously.
Jordan and Lore’l both grew up in Newark, New Jersey and attended Chad Science as middle school students. During a 2021 episode of her podcast, The Undressing Room, Lore’l made reference to growing up with the Hollywood star.
“You know what I really think deep down inside? I think that Michael B. Jordan is a nice, corny guy, and I don’t mean that as a slight. We all know the nice, corny guys treat you the best,” Lore’l’s co-host, Dominique Da Diva, said.
“You know what’s so crazy? I went to school with Michael B. Jordan at a point in life. And to be honest with you, we teased him all the damn time because his name was Michael Jordan,” Lore’l added.
Not long after her initial interaction with Jordan, Lore’l, sat down with TMZ and addressed the matter further. During the interview, the radio show host said that she only went to school with Jordan for one year and she did not bully him during their time in class together. Rather, she remembers everyone making jokes about everyone in the class, including her. She went on to compare Jordan’s reaction to her comments on the red carpet to Will Smith’s response to Chris Rock’s jokes at last year’s Academy Awards.
“It gave the Will Smith thing,” Lore’l said.
“You know, he’s probably heard numerous people probably call him this before, because this is not something we haven’t heard. I just never said it. I’ve defended him numerous times, just because of the fact that I did have a rapport with him. And I never said we were best friends….we were cool, and that was just that.”
Jordan has not responded to Lore’l’s most recent comments. Earlier today, he was celebrated with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Meanwhile, Lore’l is expected to release a new episode of The Undressing Room on Thursday.
