Just three years ago, Lizzo was relatively unknown to the average music consumer. In 2021, she is widely regarded as one of the most successful and influential stars in music. As her star power has grown, she has ventured into film and television. This summer, she plans to enter new territory.
Lizzo has been tapped as one of the headliners for TED’s upcoming global conference. She will be joined by Netflix Chief Marketing Officer Bozoma Saint John and filmmaker Pardis Parker. Other speakers include former Wikipedia CEO Katherine Maher, former NFL Pro Bowl quarterback Alex Smith and Google executive Jeff Dean among others.
“[This conference will focus] on building a brighter future for everyone, celebrating the clear-eyed and the bold of heart, those who don’t shy away from the most intractable-seeming problems but rather step toward them to make the case that, even now, hope is possible,” organizers told Deadline.
2021 TED Monterey is set to take begin on August 1 and run through August 4 at the Monterey Conference Center.
