Lizzo visits Baton Rouge, Lousiana and brings her feel-good bop Good As Hell to Southern University’s homecoming with the help of The Human Jukebox.
The Grammy-nominated artist continues to spread her self-love message with the new video for her 2016 song. Good As Hell, initially released on her 2016 EP Coconut Oil has found a new fan base in 2019. On the jazzy, hip-hop-infused track, Lizzo carries the theme of celebrating yourself, with no regard to relationship issues, life problems or stress.
Southern University’s 2019 homecoming celebration creates the perfect environment to echo the song and The Human Jukebox has the skill to bring a new life to an already refreshed track. Featuring the Southern University Human Jukebox Marching Band and The Fabulous Dancing Dolls, the video follows a rehearsal, a trip on Lizzo’s branded bus and ultimately a stadium performance.
The members of The Human Jukebox sport their authentic uniforms while Lizzo wears a custom sequined ensemble and warm-ups styled with Southern University’s blue and yellow university colors.
The Human Jukebox of Southern University, a Historically Black College and University or HBCU prides itself on being one of the most prestige HBCU bands. HBCU band culture is an important aspect of HBCU pride and school spirit. The Human Jukebox’s next big appearance takes place during the 2020 Rose Parade in Pasadena, California.
Lizzo herself is having a banner year in her budding career. She leads all artists in Grammy nominations for the upcoming 2020 ceremony with eight.
