Lil’ Peep’s mother, Liza Womack, has filed a lawsuit against First Access Entertainment for negligence, breach of contract and wrongful death. The claim names several First Access Entertainment employees including Sarah Stennett, Bryant Ortega and Belinda Mercer.
The suit claims that Peep was “stressed, overwhelmed, burnt out, exhausted and physically unwell” during his final tour in 2017. Furthermore, the suit alleges Stennett gave Peep a bottle of pills over dinner in 2017. Moreover, the claim alleges that Stennett sent Peep a text message that read, “I’m about to land at JFK. I have one 2m x and 4 x .25.”
Other claims made in the lawsuit indicate that Mercer was in a sexual relationship with Peep prior to his death. During that alleged relationship, Mercer is accused of enabling Peep’s drug habit by supplying him with Ketamine. During a tour stop in Canada, Mercer was allegedly stopped by drug sniffing dogs at the border. Stennett is believed to have been made aware of the incident, but declined to take disciplinary action.
On the night that Peep died, employees of First Access Entertainment allegedly noted “that he looked alarmingly unwell, but rather than seeking help or contacting authorities, Mercer instead elected to run a personal errand.”
Overall, the suit paints First Access Entertainment as enablers that played a major role in Peep’s death. First Access Entertainment has yet to make an official statement on the lawsuit. However, Stennett did comment on Peep’s drug use in a Rolling Stone story back in March.
When asked about Peep’s final night, she stated, “I wasn’t there.” She added, “Anybody who takes drugs makes a decision to take a risk.”
Peep’s mother, Womack, simply stated, “This is something that I must do as a mother.”
Womack is currently seeking unspecified damages in the matter.
