Actress and comedian Leslie Jones has been tapped to host the 2021 MTV Movie and TV Awards.
“Guess who’s hosting the 2021 MTV? Get ready for some fun, y’all,” she told her fans.
After taking a year off in 2020, the ceremony is set to transition into a two-night event. Jones will host both the traditional award show and the reality series-focused award show.
Leading the way, Judas and the Black Messiah, Soul and Promising Young Woman headline the “Best Movie” category. Elsewhere, WandaVision, Soul and Bridgerton are nominated for the “Best Show” award. Also, host Leslie Jones is nominated for “Best Comedic Performance” alongside Issa Rae, Annie Murphy, Eric Andre and Jason Sudeikis. Meanwhile, the reality series-focused award ceremony will highlight shows like The Circle, The Challenge and The Bachelorette.
The two-day event will kick off in Los Angeles on May 16. The reality series-centered award show will follow the traditional award show on May 17. Both ceremonies will be aired on MTV at 9 p.m.
