This is a very nice idea by LeBron James and Nike to pay tribute by constructing 12 NIKEiD’s for some regular people like myself who are hometown heroes to Ohio. Giving back to their community in a wide range of ways that make this whole ordeal pretty cool to get noticed for their hardwork.

LeBron James is an international ambassador of Ohio as he carries the soul and hard-working spirit of the greater Cleveland community with him. Nike celebrates James and the tenacity of his hometown through the #iDYOURHERO initiative.
Beginning today, James and Nike shine the spotlight on 12 Ohio heroesmaking a difference in their communities. These Ohioans share a common goal with James to strive for greatness in their everyday lives by empowering others. The heroes’ inspirational stories come alive in 12 custom LEBRON 12 NIKEiD colorways.
The 12 individuals from Ohio include:
DRU JOYCE, AKRON
Dru Joyce of Akron, Ohio, serves as the inspiration for this LEBRON 12 NIKEiD shoe. As a high school basketball coach, mentor and father figure to James, Coach Dru Joyce’s commitment to his athletes makes him an inspiration to his community.
KINYATTA EDGERSON, CLEVELAND
Kinyatta Edgerson of Cleveland, Ohio, serves as the inspiration for this LEBRON 12 NIKEiD shoe. Clevelander Kinyatta Edgerson worked hard to become a first-generation college student. Like James, Edgerson’s dedication to being an example for her family and hometown makes her a hero.

Through the hashtag #iDYOURHERO, the campaign encourages fans to design a shoe via NIKEiD inspired by their own hero and share the story on social media. NIKEiD and Nike Basketball will recognize consumers who share their stories and designs.
ON-COURT HONOR
James will salute a hometown hero by wearing one of the customized shose in an upcoming game. The honor comes from James’s ambition to recognize the impact of hometown heroes who inspire greatness in their communities.
