We all know LeBron James is real big on charity, giving back to the community and those less fortunate than himself. During the Cleveland Cavaliers vs Boston Celtics game last night (12/15/15), the Boston Celtics commemorated a young 16 year old Special Olympic basketball player who plays in the Boston area. That young man goes by the name of Aaron Miller and he was awarded the MVP award for the tournament he played in. This is a great honor for Aaron as the odds were against him being born with severe brain damage that doctors said would paralyze him. Salute to you Aaron for proving them wrong!
Well while his hometown NBA team, the Celtics were honoring him, in the video below you can see that even James took the time out to meet with him. Not only that but LBJ gifted him with the shoes right off his feet as a token for winning MVP.
This all actually came after LeBron realized what was going on during a timeout as the coach was drawing up a play, here’s what he had to say;
“I wasn’t able to hear the whole story because I was actually in the game and coach was drawing up a play, But I looked up at the Jumbotron and I seen what he’s been through and where he is now. I think the doctor said he would never walk again, talk again, or something like that. I looked up there and I just, right from there. This game is so much more than just basketball.”
Not to mention Aaron was wearing a pair of Nike LeBron Flyease Soldier 8‘s which was a special sneaker created by Nike for disabled athletes.
