The Los Angeles Lakers fear they could be without star forward Lebron James for multiple weeks due to a foot injury. He will undergo several different medical evaluations before the Lakers prepare a timetable for his absence. He suffered the injury in the team’s 27-point comeback and 111-108 win over the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday night. When he went down he complained about hearing a “pop” but did finish the game that night. Further evaluation will take place, but for now the Lakers fear they could be without James for “multiple weeks”.
James miraculously played through the injury that is now expected to require multiple opinions, sources said, and the Lakers are bracing for his absence to be multiple weeks. https://t.co/zuovQ2wVzc

This season with the Los Angeles Lakers, Lebron James is averaging 29.5 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 6.9 assists per game. He has paired those numbers with a field goal percentage of 50.1 percent and a three-point percentage of 30.8 percent. The Lakers have struggled this season and at times have looked considerably worse without James on the court. After the 2022-23 NBA Trade Deadline, the Lakers have looked massively different, but only time will tell how they play without their star forward.
Lebron James mentioned the close to this season as some of the most important games of his career and now he could miss a large portion of them. The Los Angeles Lakers are currently the 12th seed in the Western Conference Standings with an overall record of 29-32. They are one game shy of a play-in spot and 2.5 games outside the sixth seed. With that in mind, the team’s margin of error is small and without James winning could prove to be a difficult task.
