The Baltimore Ravens have signed franchise quarterback Lamar Jackson to a new five-year deal worth $260 million. After the two sides have negotiated for well over a year, Jackson finally gets the long-term deal he has desired from the team that drafted him. This deal now makes him the highest-paid quarterback in the NFL dethroning Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts who recently signed a new deal himself. Jackson was selected by the Baltimore Ravens with the 32nd overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. Now the team can focus on the 2023 NFL Draft moving forward.

Last season for the Baltimore Ravens, Lamar Jackson completed 203 passes for 2,242 yards, 17 touchdowns, and seven interceptions on 326 attempts. He also rushed the ball 112 times for 764 yards and three rushing touchdowns. Just one month ago a story broke that Jackson had requested a trade from the team and was seemingly done with the franchise. Now both he and the Ravens are on the same page and the former MVP can focus on helping the team win more football games. If the Baltimore Ravens hope to win a Super Bowl again they will need their franchise quarterback at his best. With his age, there should be plenty of great football left ahead for him.
