Lalah Hathaway has shared the dates for her upcoming Vantablack Tour. The five-time GRAMMY Award winner will begin her latest tour at BJCC Concert Hall in Birmingham, Alabama on August 24, 2024. From there, she’ll make stops in Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, Detroit, Chicago, New York and several other cities across the United States. Ultimately, things will come to an end in Charleston, South Carolina on September 28, 2024 at the Charleston Music Hall.
The announcement of her Lalah Hathaway’s latest tour coincides with the release of her seventh studio album, Vantablack. The 16-track project brings out Hathaway after a seven-year layoff with help from Common, Rapsody, Phonte, WILLOW, MC Lyte, Gerald Albright and Michael McDonald.
“Vantablack was always the name of the project,” she said about her new album.
“I started reframing how I saw color in terms of being the blackest I’ve ever been, and even though I’m steeped in who I am, it doesn’t exclude the other things that make up the sum of me. Similar to how all the music around me informs the Black music that I create. So it’s all a melting pot of all of me.”
The new project arrived on Friday, June 14. As for her complete list of tour dates, she dropped those on her official website earlier this month.
