Rolling Loud’s latest show in Miami, Florida has turned out to cause more trouble for artists than any of their previous shows. Lil’ Wayne was unable to perform because he felt he and his team were being over policed upon entry to the venue. NBA Youngboy is believed to have been involved with a shooting that left a man dead and his girlfriend injured. However, those weren’t the worst things to happen at Rolling Loud. On his way into Rolling Loud, Kodak Black was arrested by federal law enforcement. After a few days, there is more information available about his legal battle.
The Florida rapper has been arrested and indicted on two counts of making a false statement in connection with the purchase or attempted purchase of a firearm. As reported by XXL, authorities allege that the rapper lied when asked if he was under indictment for a felony. The Florida native is currently indicted for a criminal sexual conduct case in South Carolina. If convicted, Kodak Black faces up to ten years in prison. In addition, he faces a $250,000 fine and three years of supervised release.
Following the arrest, Kodak Black’s attorney Bradford Cohen said, “When you throw around legal terms like an indictment, information, or anything like that where someone’s not an attorney, [the federal government is] making the assumption that you know what that means.”
Kodak Black is expected to appear in court for a bail hearing later today.
