It’s no secret the level of respect these two have for one another. As one great of our generation prepares to end it’s chapter that leaves the story of another who is looking to cement his greatness on the game to lead the way now.
Last night at the Quicken Loans Arena fans were all tuned in to watch Kobe Bryant continue his farewell tour with his final game in Cleveland. This also serves as the first of two final games we will see between The Black Mamba and King James.
In traditional fashion as of late, Bryant has been giving athletes he face up against on the farewell tour a piece of him (his game worn shoes) to keep as a parting gift. With Paul George receiving the ‘All-Star’ Kobe 11, we all should have known that LBJ would be the next recipient. After last nights loss to the Cavs with a final score of 120-111, the two superstars met up in the locker room and that is where Kobe presented LeBron with his game worn Nike Kobe 11 in it’s Lakers colorway. Not only that but Bean signed them personally which to much delight of James led to much excitement and will be added to his trophy room presumably so.
With Nike Basketball sharing some great pictures we also receive a clip taken from the Cavs website to show the exchange take place as well. I wonder who’s next and also with this being Kobe Bryant’s last All-Star Game this Sunday, will the league as a collective bunch do something special for arguably the greatest since Michael Jordan.
