That commercial never gets old but for real, y’all know what day it is, Wednesday. Which means #WYKW is here again! I Hope you guys are having a great week so far and if you not well today is the perfect day to unwind and break out some heat to share it with us.

Today’s feature is none other than Rich Homie Quan himself, nah not the rapper but Quan or on twitter @Quanb24. He’s rich, and If you aren’t following Quan via twitter then you aren’t hip to the Limited edition Quickstrike myths that are Air Quans that released but never did release, thats how real it is.
(Laughs), nah but for real Quan is a cool dude, always in the know of whatever kicks is dropping or anything tech wise. Lastly if you haven’t done so make sure you cop Quanflix, I got it and I probably won’t need cable, okay maybe just basic.
I hit Quan up to do a feature and as you can see we are here. He sent over a story for a pair of kicks I remember vividly because I wanted a pair but then I didn’t want a pair (Ended up not getting a pair); the Air Foamposite One “Metallic Red”. If you weren’t around for this release then you didn’t witness what happened and by reading Quans story I can see the hype for these were everywhere.
Lets get into it….
I have a couple crazy shoe stories but one that stands out from them all, Metallic Red Foamposites. First of all I’m located in the DMV area which is foams capital (Not NY lol ) so you already know everybody here LOVES foams.
I’ve been going to the same mall to cop kicks for couple years with no trouble at all, you get there early you got your kicks in YOUR size easy.
My opinion, after the “Space Jams” release in ’09, SHOE HYPE GOT OUT OF CONTROL. So many regular shoe spots have been compromised by hypebeast. Not only do I have to deal with the regular DMV people that beast on foams, add people that just want the shoe because it’s the new hot shoe that’s ready to come out.
I had people I didn’t talk to in YEARS hit me up asking about the shoes, from that moment I knew the show game was getting bad. Knowing this release will cause pure chaos, I tried to make as many backup plans as possible bruh.
I had people in different cities trying to cop for me. Peoples out Florida and NY be hooking me up on the daily said its going to be crazy but they were going to try to get my size I’m like cool, cool. I KNOW PEOPLE THAT WORK AT SHOE STORES IN MY OWN CITY THAT WOULDN’T EVEN LOOK OUT, BRUH!. On top of that, I got my friends wanting me to help them out too man, “Yo Quan! I know you getting them red foams bruh where you going? What time? We there!?”
February 4, 2012, I go to my mall super early like at 5 A.M . I see nobody here I’m like cool, me and my cousin go get some food, we come back and a CROWD OF PEOPLE WERE OUTSIDE THE DOOR MAN!
This is a mall remember, so you already know what’s about to go down. My cousin was like “you know what we ready to do right?” man I called all my peoples I made plans with to see if they can “alley oop” me, it was a no go (laughs).
So its like 6:45 A.M. ( they open the doors at 7:00) but the cops open the side doors a little early so EVERYBODY RUSHED THROUGH THE SIDE DOOR LIKE CRAZY. Picture a million people trying run through the same door, people getting trampled and everything. By the grace of God me and my cousin got a good spot in line. Footlocker wasn’t far from the side door (laughs), like a 40 yard dash, swear I ran a 4.1 that day lmao.
Everybody in line is exhausted bruh like dudes just ran a marathon. People sitting on the floor and sh*t I’m on the phone with my man telling him I’m good and some dude passed out in line! People thought somebody knocked him out for his spot, it was crazy. Police came and everything everybody thought son was dead, smoking weed all night plus no food and you just ran the 40 basically your body gave out.
I was thinking man I’m done with this shoe sh*t lmao, I never had to run through a mall to get kicks ever that was my first and last time. Mission successful though me and my cousin got the red foams in our size.
Once the mall saw how crazy people went over shoes they started doing tickets to stop the madness. I will never sell these kicks no matter what lol they still DS (deadstock never worn), I gotta break them out this week after sharing this story. I think I posted a video on YouTube of me in line no way I caught the madness lol.
