Wear Your Kicks turns 1 next week (March 19) but I couldn’t wait any longer to get the series started again. So with that said ladies and gents, welcome back to the weekly Wednesday showcasing you guys made possible.
Starting this back in 2014 I honestly had no idea on which direction I would have wanted to take this nor did I have any idea some people even look forward to each and every Wednesday to participate. Well as you can see we are on our 22nd installment after a brief hiatus, which is cool because we needed to take a quick break. Back to work, though.
This time around we plan on doing things a little different.
Instead of me just showcasing my own collection each week and having a guest writer periodically, I am focusing on getting strictly guest submissions (hopefully) because that was initially the soul purpose of this to begin with. Also instead of written pieces I want to get individuals who have the capability of doing so to submit visual or even audio content if possible. Just to make things that much more interesting for you guys.
Wear Your Kicks Wednesday the hashtag via: social media says it all and is self-explanatory, #WYKW. For those who may be new, each Wednesday people will participate in showing what kicks they went with for the day and simple caption it using the hashtag. Now this has primarily taken place on Twitter but we are trying to get the movement to spread onto Instagram as well. Wouldn’t mind it reaching Tumblr or Facebook either.
But enough of me talking let’s get into this weeks submission which happens to continue right where we left off with Pt. 21, a female participant.
She goes by the name Liane and can be found on social media at @_Gawgeouss via twitter and @ayolean via Instagram.
As you will learn in her submission and as you can see in the pictures below, she opted for a much more subtle approach with the sneakers she wanted to present to us today. Not your typical Nikes, LeBrons, Kobes or Jordans but Liane went with three different Sauconys.
Not mad at this at all, shows diversity, lets get right into it.
My growing collection contains plenty of shoes you wouldn’t think a girl like me would have. When it comes to sneakers I take it very seriously. Serious enough to where I try to purchase sneakers that are different from other people’s taste. My taste in shoes is what makes me who I am today.
I can sit here and type up a list of sneakers from Nike SBs like the Space Tigers to the Gibsons as well as the Jordan’s from 1s to 23s but I’ll probably be here all day. I’ll be honest with you, it took a lot of thinking to come up with what sneakers I value the most because all of my sneakers were bought for a different reason.
When I finally made up my mind I thought about my Sauconys and how they mean so much to me. I’m trying my very hardest to collect as many sauconys as possible. It was something about the first pair of sauconys I bought that drew me into them. The different color ways and styles on each sneaker fall into place so perfectly, in my opinion. There’s so many styles from the grid 9000 to the shadow 5000.

By far my favorite ones were actually a collaboration with play cloths called strange fruit. The pink and grey shadow 5000 are a collaboration with sole box which were actually my first pair. Where it all started. Lastly the navy blue grid 9000 which is a part of the three rivers pack.

I was in high hopes of getting the burger shadow 5000 saucony collaboration with the End Clothing but unfortunately it didn’t end too well. My best friend was trying to order them for me online but right when it hit 12 a.m. the page crashed and when we finally got the page back my size was sold out. The only size sold out too, which was very unfortunate for me but I plan on getting them sometime in the near future even though they are very rare.
Sneakers aren’t just a hobby of mine but a passion.
