As I looked at the clock make its way to 12 midnight I sat and wondered how can I do something special sneaker wise to bring in my birthday. Yeah my birthday is April 11th (today) and I know you guys are probably wondering who in their right mind would spend time writing this up? Well me of course. Its Kicks Ova Everything remember? Even over your birthday (laughs). Nah but for real I just felt it was only right I share something with you guys since you couldn’t be here to celebrate me being on this earth another year.
As a kid I always had the newest sneaker or have been in the know of the latest kicks regardless if I had them or not. I could always remember waking up that morning and going to the nearest sneaker store to cop whatever new Jordan’s was releasing or Nike’s.
I could also remember when the days of getting sneakers stress free existed (remember that?).
I remember the days of going to 34th street to this spot called “A-Jays” and getting kicks 2 weeks early or my pops going to the Champs connect and getting kicks at midnight without a hassle.
Over the past 26 years I have witnessed a lot of sneakers come and go but the passion I have for sneakers still lives on no matter how old I get.
Now I can go on and on and on about my childhood or how much I love kicks but that’s for another day. Today I decided to share as best as I could off the top of my head, 26 of my favorite sneakers that I either owned or still wish I could have purchased.
