The atmosphere at the Hulu Theater in New York, New York was electric on Saturday as Xander Zayas and Edgar Berlanga both earned victories. However, one rising star was missing from the evening’s festivities. His name is Keyshawn Davis. At 23 years old, Davis has picked up four pro wins, three knockouts and a silver medal during the 2021 Summer Olympics Games in Tokyo, Japan. He was originally scheduled to fight at the Hulu Theater on March 19, 2022, but an unforeseen illness kept him out of the ring. Now, he’s looking to get back into the swing of things in April.
Per Ben Baby of ESPN, junior welterweight prospect Keyshawn Davis will return to the ring on April 30, 2022. He is reportedly scheduled to fight Esteban Sanchez Mexico at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Televised by ESPN, Davis’ fight will be followed by a slew of Top Rank sponsored bouts that will culminate with Oscar Valdez and Shakur Stevenson fighting for the undisputed junior lightweight title.
Davis-Sanchez adds to an exciting night of boxing. As mentioned previously, Shakur Stevenson and Oscar Valdez will share the ring in Las Vegas, Nevada. Elsewhere, Amanda Serrano and Katie Taylor will partake in what is described as the biggest fight in the history of women’s boxing. Not to mention, Saul “Canelo” Alvarez is expected to return to the ring one week later in Texas.
