Phoenix Suns forward Kevin Durant has signed a lifetime contract with the sports apparel company Nike according to reports. This adds the 34-year-old forward to an elite company as just the third player to receive a lifetime contract from the company. Those other two players are former Chicago Bulls shooting guard Michael Jordan and current Los Angles Lakers small forward Lebron James. This means that Durant will continue to partner with the sports apparel company long after he decides to retire from the NBA. A huge moment for both the Suns forward and Nike as they look to continue to widen their brand.
A true honor to be in the game for life with @Nike https://t.co/VNj1IJUVWG

This season as a member of the Brooklyn Nets and Phoenix Suns, Kevin Durant averaged 29.1 points, 6.7 rebounds, 5.0 assists, and 1.4 blocks per game. He paired those numbers with a field goal percentage of 56 percent and a three-point percentage of 40.4 percent. For Durant, the trade to the Suns offers him another fresh start and the chance to compete again for an NBA Championship. With the team moving on to the second round and Durant signing this deal, the focus will be completely on accomplishing that goal to end the NBA season. Durant is one of the best players to ever play in the NBA and this is a clear indication that Nike also feels that wat about the forward.
