It’s kinda surreal… For me to become an All-Star for two straight years and now to become a starter, I most definitely proved the doubters wrong
Walker came into this season on the back of two straight All-Star appearances, and has been putting in his most complete season of his career thus far in 2018-19. Averaging 25 points is a feat that few are capable of, but pair that with his 5.7 assists, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.3 steals a game and Walker was a strong choice for the starting guard spot.
The Eastern Conference has been much maligned for being weaker than its counterpart, but this year the East is turning the tide with strong performances from it’s top stars and teams. Walker headlines the East as one of its top ten players according to the All-Star votes. The Charlotte Hornets currently possess the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference. Charlotte lacks star power outside of it’s crown jewel in Walker, but the team has managed to maintain a close to .500 record so far this season.
Walker was all smiles as he found out he was going to be a starter as captured by the hornets twitter page. While watching his highlights and accolades be displayed on the big screen and touted by the guys on TNT Walker couldn’t help but flash a big toothy grin to the cameras as he contemplated the accomplishment.

Congratulations are certainly in order, but Kemba is assuredly not done working on his game and improving. He’ll hope to make this type of thing just part of his routine.
