Keion Brooks has committed to Kentucky joining three others, including two other five stars in their 2019 class. Brooks, a small forward is their second in the class, as Khalil Whitney is also a wing. The Wildcats are stocking up on athletic guards in wings with both Whitney and Brooks being long and athletic, along with combo guard Tyrese Maxey.
These three five-stars fit the mold of what John Calipari wants in his perimeter players. Guys who are athletic enough to play suffocating defense and can switch onto multiple positions. Brooks is a guy who fits that archetype, he also has a chance to be a multiple positional player for Calipari next year whether outside or as a small ball four.

The rich continue to get richer as Calipari with this commitment now has a class ranked second in the nation. Watching who comes back from this year’s team to join these recruits will be interesting also. Kentucky is always going to be good because of the talent they bring in. The Kentucky teams who are great though usually get major contributions from a sophomore or two who raised their game in their second year similar to a PJ Washington currently.
Guys like Ashton Hagans and Tyler Hero will have decisions to make while guys like E.J Montgomery should be counted on to return. Regardless expect the Wildcats to have another talented team down in Lexington next year.
