LSU Tigers star wide receiver Kayshon Boutte has announced he is returning to the team next season for his senior year. Despite possibly being a first-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft he will play college football next year. While not explicitly said his NIL deal could be a contributing factor to his staying in college for another year. Boutte will also have the chance to graduate with a college degree in the spring of 2024 after this announcement. This also shouldn’t impact his draft stock in a negative fashion considering he’s still a highly touted NFL prospect.

In this three-year career with the LSU Tigers, Kayshon Boutte has caught 131 passes for 1,782 yards and 16 touchdowns. This season he rushed the ball for the first and only time and he ran for 41 yards. In his first two seasons, he returned five kickoffs for 80 yards. He has been a phenomenal player in his LSU career and will one day be yet another player and wide receiver the program has put into the NFL. For now, he returns to the LSU Tigers for one more season and perhaps a chance to compete for a National Championship.
Head Coach Brian Kelly’s first season at LSU was better than expected with a win over the Alabama Crimson Tide and an appearance in the SEC Championship game. With Kayshon Boutte returning the team will have a loaded receiving core and should compete at the top of the SEC once again.
