Katherine Waterston is the latest actress to join the cast of Paramount+ with Showtime’s forthcoming spy drama series, The Agency. Waterston joins a star-studded cast that includes Jeffrey Wright, Jodie Turner-Smith, Michael Fassbender and Richard Gere. Production has already reportedly begun in London.
According to multiple reports, Paramount+ with Showtime’s newest series, The Agency, is reportedly inspired by the popular French series, Le Bureau des Legendes. Running for five seasons with 50 episodes in total, the show was described as “moody, cynical & stylish…consistently smart and understated” by The New York Times. As of now, Paramount+ with Showtime is the first entity to adapt the series for a U.S. audience.
“[The Paramount+ with Showtime adaptation of Le Bureau des Legendes] follows Martian (Fassbender), a covert CIA agent, ordered to abandon his undercover life and return to London Station. When the love he left behind reappears, romance reignites. His career, his real identity and his mission are pitted against his heart; hurling them both into a deadly game of international intrigue and espionage,” the series description reads, according to Variety.
There is no word as to when it will hit streaming services in the U.S.
