For those that haven’t seen the videos or pictures, Kanye West recently celebrated his 38th birthday this past Monday. His wife Kim Kardashian-West made Ye’s dream come true by renting out the Staples Center which is reportedly cost her $110,000 but I am not one to count a persons money so that may just be irrelevant. Anyway to me that is very dope, to have a private basketball game(s) in a sports arena for your birthday with your people.
Also he played in Yeezy’s now I don’t know if you guys remember when Ye went on to say this;
“Nike told me, ‘We can’t give you royalties because you’re not a professional athlete,’ Yeezus said. “I told them, ‘I go to the Garden and play one-on-no one. I’m a performance athlete’
It is obvious Kanye is a big basketball fan as he has been spotted at a couple NBA Finals games, courtside of course and while he is a Chicago native there is no secret he is good friends with LeBron James.
During a recent interview with Hot 97 – to put an end to the Chuck E. Cheese rumors among other things – there was a point in the interview where he was asked about the Finals. Oh, by the way the series is tied 2-2 so things are definitely gearing up to be a great Finals as we head back to Golden State. So the question was who would Kanye like to see win and he had to make it known he had no favorite but he is good friends with James – like mentioned – and would like to become good friends with Steph ‘Chef’ Curry’.
This can be heard around the 4:40 mark where he went on to say,
‘I would like to be really great friends with Steph, I think he will be a really awesome Yeezy athlete. I think he needs to get rid of them Under Armours right quick, the world would love to see Steph in some Yeezy’s’.
You have to love Kanye, he has never been afraid to express how he feels about any situation. So for him to go on to say this is hilarious to me. It would be dope to see Steph lace up the Yeezy but that obviously can’t happen. Now what make this even more interesting is what if Kanye does start his own ‘Yeezy Athletics’ or something to that effect?
Who do you think would make great Yeezy athletes?
