Kanye West has launched his new Prep School, Donda Academy with intentions to build a big-time basketball team for the school. The hope as the roster continues to fill out is that it can soon rival what Sierra Canyon has built. The school and West have already got a good jump by bringing Jalen Hooks and Robert Dillingham into the program, the latter of which is a five-star junior. West himself reached out to both players to recruit them to the school and seems to have taken an active role in recruiting other top high school talents.
The school has yet to name a head coach but has announced they will be back by Adidas, no surprise with West being such a prominent piece of the Adidas brand. In addition to trying to rise to Sierra Canyon’s level, there are talks of getting a game between the two schools at the Staples Center sometime in the future.
Kanye West’s Donda Academy has not named their head basketball coach.
Sources tell @BallySports that NBA Champion & former Warriors, 76ers and Blazers forward Dorell Wright is heavily involved in the school’s Sport’s Program Development. pic.twitter.com/KMzoV3CwNb

Not too long after the original two commitments surfaced it was announced that a third high schooler and second five-star recruit Jahki Howard would also be joining Donda Academy. The core of this team has already begun to take shape and it’s loaded with talent at its core. Expect more commitments in the next weeks and months as the school continues to build out its roster. With West doing some of the recruiting himself and reaching out to the kids they really want, expect big things from this roster.
