Justine Skye gets vulnerable, releasing new 6-track EP Bare With Me.
The independent R&B singer hopes to cement herself as an artist through Bare With Me. She shares during an interview with Teen Vogue that leaving her label allowed intimacy with herself.
“No, I didn’t get dropped. I left. Normally, when you’re not with a label and you’re trying to be an artist in the past…it was like impossible. You’re not successful. You can’t be. It’s like, what do you think you’re doing — now, it’s good for you. Now you can really, really dive into your true self, you don’t have so many suits on top of you telling you what you need to do.” says Justine Skye to Teen Vogue.
Bare With Me lists no features R&B tracks and even infuses her Jamaican roots. Production and writing credits include Hit-Boy, James Fauntleroy, Ari PenSmith and more. This EP comes as Justine Skye’s first solo release since her 2018 album ULTRAVIOLET while under Roc Nation.
