Julius Randle Cleared For Weight-Bearing Activity, No Contact Yet
One of the first things to go wrong for the Los Angeles Lakers this season was Julius Randle, the Lakers’ no. 7 overall draft pick, braking his fibula in the season opener against the Houston Rockets. The injury sidelined Randle for the entire rest of the season.
Lakers Nation reporter Serena Winters reports that Randle has been cleared for activity:

Head coach Byron Scott recently said that Randle is expected to play with the Lakers summer league team, which will give Randle his first real NBA action on the floor.

In a time where the Lakers are one of the bottom feeders in the NBA, the recovery of Julius Randle becomes even more crucial for the progression of the franchise. Jeanie Buss promised changes if the Lakers don’t return to their contending ways. Randle has the chance to solidify himself as the power forward for the future. His development as a young player now also includes the rigor of physical and mental recovery.
