Over the years, few artists have consistently delivered quality guest verses quite like 6LACK. Normani, Khalid, Kehlani, ScHoolboy Q and Timbaland are just a few of the artists and producers who have reached out to the Atlanta native since he arrived on the scene with Free 6LACK in 2016. This weekend, he continued his run with a contribution to “Mustard” by Jordan Ward. In his words, the process of working on this record felt reminiscent of “the summers [he] spent working on FREE 6LACK [and East Atlanta Love Letter].”
“I just [want to] say this song reminds me of the summers I spent working on FREE 6LACK [and East Atlanta Love Letter],” he tweeted.
“Not only does the sh*t sound amazing — [shoutout] to everyone who worked on it — but it just takes me back to some of the thoughts I carried before, during and after working on those early projects. [It reminds me of] those moments when the pressure was on [and] I had an opportunity to put something meaningful out into the world. We did that sh*t. [Three] albums, [one] EP and a few hundred guest verses later, [we’re] still here.”
