Jordan Adetunji has made his way to the Billboard Hot 100 for the first time. With a nearly 50% jump in streams during the last full week of June, the singer’s breakout hit, “Kehlani,” has debuted at number 70 on the Billboard Hot 100. Adding to the song’s success, “Kehlani” opens at 17th on the Hot Rap Songs chart and jumps 13 spots to number 20 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs. Not to mention, Kehlani has already teased their appearance on the highly-anticipated remix.
“Making a song about Kehlani was a no brainer to me, her confidence and huge cultural impact is something I love! I love confidence,” he said about his breakout hit.
“Especially when people do things that put themselves out there, doing things out the norm and showing huge ambition. When I made the track in my room I posted the snippet and when I seen the hype I recorded a new verse and dropped it everywhere within two days after! It made so much sense for me to get this song out ASAP.”
The success of “Kehlani” has not only put Adetunji on the Billboard Hot 100, but it’s also opened the door for major partnerships. This year, the emerging artist has already locked in deals with 300 Entertainment in North America and Warner Records in the United Kingdom.
“Jordan is a generational talent whose music transcends genres,” 300 Entertainment CEO Kevin Liles said.
“300 is built on recognizing an artist’s authentic self and empowering them to share their gifts with the world. We are proud to partner with Jordan’s management team and our incredible UK Warner Records family in this artistic journey.”
