Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor is likely done for the season after suffering a high ankle sprain. He left early in the team’s epically embarrassing meltdown and 39-36 overtime loss to the Minnesota Vikings on Saturday in Week Fifteen. With the Colts all but eliminated from the 2022-23 NFL Playoffs, there wouldn’t necessarily be a reason to bring the star back into games this season. Risking anything to close the season when they won’t be making the playoffs isn’t a likely scenario even if he was healed enough to play in the last weeks.

This season with the Indianapolis Colts, Jonathan Taylor rushed the ball 192 times for 861 yards and four touchdowns. He also caught 28 passes for 142 yards and zero touchdowns. Overall it has been a disappointing season for both Taylor and the Indianapolis Colts. The level of production from last season did not get replicated this year for the star running back. Now that his season is likely over he can focus on the offseason and bouncing back next season.
The Indianapolis Colts currently have an overall record of 4-9-1 and will be eliminated from NFL Playoff contention in the next week or right after. The team will have to address several questions this offseason including their Head Coach, quarterback, and overall direction. We here at Def Pen Sports wish Jonathan Taylor the best in his recovery and eventual return to the football field.
