With viable big men options running thin on the dwindling free agent market, the Golden State Warriors are preparing to add their second frontcourt piece of the summer.
After the controversial signing of center DeMarcus Cousins, the Warriors also plan to sign Swedish forward Jonas Jerebko according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Forward Jonas Jerebko plans to sign with the Golden State Warriors upon clearing waivers on Monday, league sources tell ESPN. Jerebko has a $4.2M salary that would need to be guaranteed if he's claimed.

With his ability to stretch the floor, Jerebko will add even more sharp-shooting to arguably the deadliest team in NBA history. Though he’s not the most athletic, Jerebko can shoot well from long distance and should mesh perfectly with Golden State’s system.
However, Jerebko may have a difficulty getting consistent minutes after being an important part of the Utah Jazz playoff run last season. The Warriors already roster some up-and-coming frontcourt options off the bench such as Jordan Bell and Kevon Looney.
This signing could ultimately indicate that the Warriors have no plans to bring back veteran David West who is currently an unrestricted free agent after two years with the club. While Jerebko doesn’t bring the toughness West did, his capable jumpshot should make him an instantly seamless fit as the Warriors gun for their third consecutive championship.
