On Thursday, December 1, Joe Biden will host the first state dinner of his presidential term. Not only will President Emmanuel Macron of France be in attendance, but Grammy Award winner Jon Batiste will be in town as well. Batiste will serve as the lead musical act throughout the evening as Biden and Macron celebrate the longstanding relationship between the United States and France.
“An artist who transcends generations, Jon Batiste’s music inspires and brings people together,” Vanessa Valdivia, a spokesperson for first lady Jill Biden, said.
“We’re thrilled to have him perform at the White House for the first state dinner of the Biden-Harris administration.”
Batiste will make his White House debut on December 1, but he is no stranger to the bright lights. The Juilliard School graduate has won a Golden Globe Award, Grammy Award and an Academy Award. He has also performed at Roots N Blues Festival, Austin City Limits Festival, the Grammy Awards and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Not to be forgotten, he has performed at Something In The Water and the Ball For The Mall in Washington, D.C.
