Matt Reeves can’t stop signing big names to star in The Batman. The most recently Hollywood heavyweight to join the film is John Turturro, who will reportedly portray the infamous Gotham crime boss, Carmine Falcone. Falcone was last played by Tom Wilkinson in Christopher Nolan’s Batman Begins. Reeves announced the news himself on Friday via Twitter.

Turturro is joining an absolutely STACKED cast that includes Robert Pattinson as Batman, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon, Zoë Kravitz as Selina Kyle, and Paul Dano as the Riddler. Colin Farrell and Andy Serkis were also recently announced to be appearing as the Penguin and Alfred Pennyworth, respectively. Another recent addition is Jayme Lawson, a Juilliard grad who’s set to appear in her first feature film role. Unfortunately, who exactly she’s playing is being kept under wraps for now.
Turturro is currently gearing up to release his highly-anticipated follow-up to The Big Lebowski, The Jesus Rolls. It’s slated to release sometime in early 2020 though a date hasn’t been set quite yet. It has already received its first trailer, however, its the Italian trailer as the film is slated to release there before the end of the year.
The Batman is set to hit theaters on June 25th, 2021.
