Back in August, an arrest warrant was issued against the Lakers’ big men for allegedly threatening the mother of his kid by saying that he would shoot her while they were arguing on the phone.
Tania Ganguli from the Los Angeles Times reported that the league is still reviewing the outcome of the legal procedures that were just announced. Cousins can be fined or suspended by the NBA due to violations of the league’s domestic violence policy even though the charges were dropped.
A league spokesman had this to say regarding DeMarcus Cousins’ attorney announcing that charges against him were dropped: “We are reviewing the outcome of today’s proceedings.”

As of now Cousins, who signed recently with the Lakers, suffered a torn ACL injury which has sidelined him and will probably be out for the whole season. But, according to Dave McMenamin from ESPN, the team is still hopeful that Cousins comes back before the season ends. Frank Vogel the Lakers head coach also said that he is aware of Cousins’ legal situation but he wasn’t allowed to comment on it.
F. Vogel says that DeMarcus Cousins’ criminal charges that were dropped today have “definitely been present in my mind but it’s really a legal matter and I’m not really allowed to comment on it further than that.” He added that the team is still “hopeful” Cousins plays in ‘19-20
