John Madden passed away unexpectedly in late December 2021 at the age of 85. The football icon was a legend in the sport. He was a former player, Head Coach, commentator, and inspiration behind the Madden NFL Football video game. The memorial was originally planned for February 15th but was moved to the 14th so it could happen on Monday Night. There may not be a bigger name and image in all of the sport of football.

John Madden will be well remembered for his love of football and his ability to break down plays for those watching at home. The football world will continue to miss the football icon long after the date of his passing. We here at Def Pen Sports wish to offer our condolences to Madden’s family and friends. The public memorial in Oakland should be a touching event for one of the titans of football.
