The Los Angeles Chargers‘ most explosive pass rusher may not be able to play in Sunday’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. ESPN‘s Shelley Smith has reported that Joey Bosa has been placed on the team’s reserve/COVID-19 list after having close contact with someone who recently tested positive for the virus.
Bosa is unvaccinated and must quarantine for the next five days. If he is able to test negative for the virus and remain symptom-free, he will rejoin the team on Saturday.
Bosa is one of three pass rushers who must remain in quarantine for five days. Jerry Tiller and Christian Covington must remain quarantine after making contact with someone who has the virus. Not to mention, Drue Tranquill has been on the team’s COVID-19 list since last week.
Together, Covington, Tranquill, Tiller and Bosa account for 9.5 of the team’s 17 sacks this season. The Chargers have also given up the third fewest total yards this season with Bosa, Tiller, Covington and Tranquill playing.
