
According to several reports, Philadelphia 76ers big man Joel Embiid underwent surgery on Monday to repair a torn ligament in his right hand. In addition, another procedure was also performed for an injury in his left index finger. Neither of the injuries should bother him and he will be available for the start of training camp.

Neither procedure is expected to impact Embiid’s availability for training camp.

Embiid also suffered an orbital fracture during the second round of the playoffs but no surgery was needed for that injury to heal.

The torn ligament injury happened during Game 4 of the first-round series against the Toronto Raptors. Embiid kept playing to finish the series in six games and later face the Miami Heat.
Despite all of the injuries, Embiid averaged 23.6 points, 10.7 rebounds, and 2.1 assists in 38.5 minutes per game while shooting close to 50% from the field.
