The Las Vegas Raiders have signed San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo to a three-year deal worth $67.5 million. With the departure of long-time franchise quarterback Derek Carr the team was ging to have to add at least one quarterback this offseason via free agency, the 2023 NFL Draft, or both. With the team signing him to a three-year deal they could still draft a quarterback later in the draft and stash him for the future. The team is hoping to compete next year with their defense and offensive weapons and hope Garoppolo is the quarterback that will help them do that.

Jimmy Garoppolo did not start or end the season as the starting quarterback of the San Francisco 49ers but was the starter for most of the season. An injury to Trey Lance trusted him back into his starting job and then his own injury placed Brock Purdy under center. In the time that he did play this season wth the San Francisco 49ers, he completed 207 passes for 2,437 yards, 16 touchdowns, and four interceptions on 308 attempts. He also rushed the ball 23 times for 33 yards and two rushing touchdowns.
