JID is preparing to take the stage at Made In America this afternoon in Philadelphia. Before doing so, he made his way out west and chopped it up with Bootleg Kev. During their entertaining conversation, the Atlanta native discussed the possibility of bringing back the Revenge of the Dreamers series.
“Is there going to be another Dreamville compilation?” Bootleg Kev asked.
“That would be smart. Do you know what I’m saying? It would be smart to do that. The last one was so epic,” JID answered.
If a second Dreamville compilation were to be created, he would make a few changes. JID believes that a second project should focus more heavily on the Dreamville roster.
“If we honed it in and more and make more so about the collective…you know what I’m saying? There were a lot of outside [artists during the most recent Revenge of the Dreamers recording sessions]. If we just [had] a couple of features here and there and make it just about the collective,” JID continued.
Ari Lennox is preparing to release new music this week and Cozz and Bas have been somewhat teasing new projects. Lute shared the deluxe edition of Gold Mouf earlier this year. JID released his Dreamville studio LP, The Forever Story, last week. Not to mention, the entire Dreamville team worked with DJ Drama to put out their own Gangsta Grillz tape. With the amount of music that Dreamville continues to put out, it appears that another Dreamville compilation could already be in the works.
