The Carolina Panthers beat the Houston Texans on Thursday Night Football but lost rookie cornerback Jaycee Horn to a broken foot in the game. He was the Panther’s first-round selection this year and considered one of the best defensive players in the 2021 NFL Draft. Horn was off to a hot start in his rookie year but now faces a serious setback. This injury will certainly land him on injured reserve, but there is some hope that it will not end his rookie season. Carolina is off to a 3-0 start with their win over Houston in week three’s edition of Thursday Night Football.

Matt Rhule says Jaycee Horn broke multiple bones in his foot. Said he doesn’t believe it’s Lisfranc.

There is currently no timetable for Jaycee Horn’s return and the magnitude of the broken foot will matter in that decision. The Carolina Panthers’ defense has looked great this season and Horn was a key contributor to that team success. This injury will set the team back, but the team will be thankful that the injury wasn’t more serious. Horn is considered a future cornerstone of this team’s defense and his long-term future will be taken into consideration here.

Houston Texans wide receiver Brandin Cooks had a slow start with Jaycee Horn covering him but ended the game with nine catches and 112 yards. He caught most of those passes after the injury took Horn out of the game. The hope now is that the rookie will be able to return in time for the Carolina Panthers playoff push. We here at Def Pen Sports hope to see Jaycee Horn healthy and back on the field as soon as possible.
