Undefeated heavyweight contender Jared “Big Baby” Anderson is set to fight George Arias at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey on April 8, 2023. The 10-round bout will be broadcast on ESPN and ESPN+ with commentary teams to be announced at a later date.
Jared “Big Baby” Anderson is one of the most exciting prospects in the heavyweight division. With a record of 13-0 with 13 knockouts, the Ohio native has quickly shot up the heavyweight ladder and is on the verge of entering the next category of heavyweights alongside fellow contenders and former champions like Frank Sanchez and Daniel Dubois.
Anderson was unable to fight three times in 2023 as he had hoped due to injury. However, he was able to knock out Miljan Rovcanin in Tulsa, Oklahoma on ESPN. Just a few months later, he returned to stop Jerry Forrest within the distance at Madison Square Garden. Now, he will challenge fellow undefeated heavyweight prospect, George Arias.
“This is the kind of fight I’ve been waiting for, a big fight between two undefeated heavyweights. I’m excited to once again be fighting on the same card as Shakur Stevenson. Don’t miss this fight. April 8 is going to be a special night in Newark,” Anderson said.
Anderson’s opponent, George Arias, enters the bout with a perfect record of 18-0 with seven knockouts. With that being said, he has been less than dominant in his last two fights, winning both by split decision. Moving forward, he is looking to prove himself against Anderson and put himself on track to fight for a title.
“I’m excited for the opportunity to go to war with Jared Anderson, one of the most highly regarded heavyweights right now,” Arias said.
“I thank my team for helping me get to this position. I can’t wait to show my skills on such a big platform. On April 8, I will pull off the upset.”
