As someone who is known to be fairly selective in their creative choices, Jamie Foxx has been fairly active lately. Foxx appeared in last year’s Robin Hood remake. Later, he appeared on HBO’s The Shop with LeBron James, Antonio Brown, Anthony Davis and more. Now, he’s teaming up with Michael B. Jordan and Ryan Coogler for their upcoming film, Just Mercy. Going forward, Foxx will be making himself more available to fans with his next major career choice.
Jamie Foxx will star as George Jefferson in ABC’s Live in Front of a Studio Audience: Norman Lear’s All in the Family and The Jeffersons. The ninety-minute ABC special will pay tribute to both legendary sitcoms with Jimmy Kimmel, Will Ferrell, Adam McKay and Brent Miller acting as executive producers. Ten time Emmy Award winner, James Burrows, will direct the special for ABC. Opposing Foxx in the role of George Jefferson, Woody Harrelson will play the role of Archie Bunker. Other key additions to the cast include Marisa Tomei, Wanda Sykes, Ellie Kemper, Will Ferrell and Justina Machado.
The special tribute will recreate one episode of each sitcom. ABC will air the special event on May 22nd at 8 p.m.
