The Philadelphia 76ers will open the 2023-2024 NBA Preseason on October 8 at TD Garden, but it does not James Harden will be making the trip to Boston, Massachusetts.
The 2017-2018 NBA MVP is in China fulfilling his promotional obligations with Adidas. While promoting the athletic brand, he participated in an event that included a question-and-answer segment. During this segment of the event, he was directly asked about his future in the league. Harden didn’t indicate where he will be playing, but he did make it clear where he won’t be playing — Philadelphia.
“Daryl Morey is a liar and I will never be a part of an organization that he’s a part of. Let me say that again: Daryl Morey is a liar and I will never be a part of an organization that he’s a part of,” he told the crowd.
Harden’s comments are more direct than his previous remarks, but they are consistent with previous reports regarding his future in the league. In June, he opted into the final year of his contract with Philadelphia under the belief that he will be moved to another organization. The Los Angeles Clippers and Los Angeles Lakers have been mentioned as possible destinations.
