In the light of the Derrick Rose trade and how ‘Out of nowhere’ that came from, the Knicks don’t have a bad starting five at the moment. I don’t want to call Melo, Kristaps and DRose a ‘Big 3’, more like a ‘half decent 3’, it’s an interesting prospect.
But as we know, it’s not just the starting 5, there’s also a bench that needs to be filled and Phil Jackson is seemingly noticing that his bench is horribly thin. It is why that he’s looking to bring back the 6th Man beast that is Jamal Crawford.
Finally, Jackson will turn his attention to building a supporting cast and one former Knick emerging as a viable option is Jamal Crawford, the NBA’s only three-time Sixth Man of Year.
“I’m not talking about any one team but everyone knows how I feel about New York,” Crawford told The News. “I really enjoyed my time there.“
That would certainly be a great pickup for the Knicks and it would be great timing since Derrick Williams recently opted out. I think we can all agree that getting Jamal Crawford would be a definite upgrade, Jamal is a free agent and if I was Jamal I would have the policy “anybody but Clippers”. But that’s just me.
