The Miami Dolphins have traded wide receiver Jakeem Grant to the Chicago Bears for a 6th round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. This deal seems to be what is best for both teams at the moment. Chicago is in desperate need of wide receiver depth and Grant was not catching many footballs in games for Miami. Grant has been a backup wide receiver for much of his career, but considering the lack of depth on the Chicago roster he may see a bigger role once he gets up to speed with the playbook.

This year in Miami Jakeem Grant has been mostly used on special teams and actually only has two catches for negative seven yards. In his career, he has caught 91 passes for 1,001 yards and five touchdowns. He also has 12 rushing attempts for 43 yards and a touchdown in his career. The biggest thing the veteran wide receiver lacks is the opportunity on offense. He only has eight starts in 70 games throughout his six-year career.

Jakeem Grant has shown flashes of potential, but his role has been limited thus far in his career. The Chicago Bears might be exactly what the wide receiver needs to jump-start his offensive career. Justin Fields is the future of their franchise and handing him more weapons is always a good thing.
