Miami Hurricanes quarterback Jake Garcia has announced that he has entered the transfer portal and will leave the program. He has three years of college eligibility remaining. Garcia originally committed to the USC Trojans before flipping to Miami and taking a red shirt in his freshman season. He did not get as many snaps as he was hoping for with the Hurricanes and is looking for a program where he can be the primary quarterback during the 2023 college football season. Garcia will likely have several top offers from Power Five programs.

In two seasons and in limited snaps with the Miami Hurricanes, Jake Garcia completed 79 passes for 950 yards, seven touchdowns, and four interceptions on 129 attempts. He does not have a rushing touchdown in his college football career. Garcia was a highly sought-after recruit coming out of high school and will get plenty of offers because of that. He will look for the best opportunity moving forward to improve his NFL Draft stock at some point in the future. There will be several programs that pitch their program to him and he has plenty of time to decide where he is going to play in the 2023 college football season.
