There are few artists that have seen their stock rise throughout the COVID-19 pandemic quite like Jack Harlow. Hours after Tom Hanks tested positive for COVID-19 and the NBA shut down its season, the Louisville native dropped what would be the most important of his career thus far, Sweet Action. Headlined by major hit, “What’s Poppin,” Harlow set himself up apart from his peers with a series uptempo party records. In the weeks and months that would follow, “What’s Poppin” blew up and his debut studio album was released months later. One nationwide tour and countless features later, the Generation Now recording artist has solidified himself as an unquestioned star. Now, he’s prepared to release his sophomore album, Come Home The Kids Miss You.
While many fans may see Jack Harlow as a pseudo pop star, he has always been committed to becoming the best rapper that he can be and carve out a space for himself among the greats. In order to do that, he needs great albums in his discography. He set the tone with the release of That’s What They All Say and he’s coming back with the follow-up in May. To get things going, he delivered the “Nail Tech” video with Yung Miami. This Friday, he’s back with “First Class.”
Jack Harlow’s “First Class” takes an interesting twist on Fergie’s classic record, “Glamorous.” As the lavish production takes listeners back to the days of Black Eyed Peas hits and Z100 dominance, the Louisville native raps about his recent success.
“Uh, I got plaques in the mail, peak season/Shout out to my UPS workers, makin’ sure I receive ’em/You could do it too, believe it,” he raps.
Check out “First Class” below and get ready for Harlow’s sophomore album next month.
