Talk about a chain of events.
News of the Jordan MTM 1/29 Pack was previewed not too long ago and now we have a preview of what is being dubbed the Air Jordan 7 ‘Celebration Collection’.
The information regarding this collection is still a bit scarce at the moment but following in the foot steps of the Air Jordan 6 ‘Celebration Collection’ – which consisted of a ‘Cigar’ inspired 6 and ‘Champagne’ inspired 6 – the ‘Celebration Collection’ 7s make sense.
Similar to the first celebration collection, this one shows both sneakers sporting championship rings and are symbolic to Jordan winning his first back to back championship. With a release date tentative to June 20th the dots sure are aligning perfectly.
The Cigar theme still can work for the Burgundy pair and the Champagne theme can work for the black and gold pair.
Also if you remember some time late last year when we got a first look at the Air Jordan 7 ‘Hares’, there was this burgundy Air Jordan 7 which was being dubbed a ‘Cavs’ colorway but as you can it in fact resembles the Celebration Collection 7 seen below minus the difference in the burgundy tongue.
Does this mean next year being the Year of the 8s will we see a Celebration Collection for them as well to complete the first three peat? Or are the Air Jordan 8 Retro ‘Three-Peat’ going to suffice for that idea? We will have to wait and see what Jordan Brand decides to do.
