Last month, General Hospital actor Ingo Rademacher was forced off of the show after he refused to comply with ABC’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate. Now, he’s filing a lawsuit against the network. In legal filings obtained by USA Today, Rademacher claims that ABC is forcing “medical treatment to its employees against their will.”
“ABC’s actions are blatantly unlawful,” the court filing reads, according to USA Today.
“[ABC] does not have authority to force a medical treatment to its employees against their will. These actions constitute religious discrimination and violate Mr. Rademacher’s rights under state and federal law.”
Rademacher claims that he refuses to receive a COVID-19 vaccine due to his religious beliefs. However, the network denied him a religious exemption after speaking with him for “half an hour” about his beliefs.
Thus far, ABC has not issued public comment regarding the matter.
